Art of intent – Yoreh The Label

ART OF INTENT

20.JUNE.2024, by Fin Matson

Intention gives us a direction that helps us settle into new capacities; it helps us to not just say things but to understand the weight of our words. To not just do things but to truly grasp the power of our doings. Stepping with intention allows us to know that our actions will be used rather than wasted and that there is so much to learn from embracing the simple pleasures in life. Every detail of a life built on this understanding was intentionally placed to give it something to say and it's built into everything we do at Yoreh. We curate not only pieces of jewelry, but a community that is reflected in everything we create. You just have to be willing to look.

This influence spreads through into it all, so when people do get our pieces, you feel like not only are you wearing art, you're wearing everything that comes with the word. Art and it's mother of creativity is something we breathe, it's human, and therefore it's flawed. That's what makes it beautiful. It's art, simply for arts sake.

Care in creation.

Our commitment to sustainability is not just a trend; it's a core value that guides our choices. From the materials we use to the way we run our business, we strive to minimize our impact on the environment and to contribute positively to the world around us, because this is our home. Our intentional creative journey starts with the choice of materials. Handcrafted by artisans in Bali, Indonesia, we use 925 recycled silver and 24k gold, metals that carry a legacy of sustainability and elegance. By opting for recycled silver, we not only reduce our environmental footprint but also give new life to materials that might otherwise go to waste. We reduce the demand for newly mined materials, which often comes at a high environmental cost. This commitment to sustainability is embodied into the very fabric of our creations, ensuring that each piece reflects our respect for the Earth and our dedication to responsible practices. Materials from the earth, such as our ceramic jewelry boxes, so we can feel that much closer to it.

These materials make beautiful pieces such as 'The Protector Ring':

Protector Ring

A foundational ring designed with the intention to allow you to get creative. Strong enough to stand on its own, or the perfect complementing piece, the possibilities are truly endless when simplicity comes with no context.

Our pieces are open for interpretation but we don't want there to be any miscommunication; intent doesn't have to always have to mean 'planned'. That's why our pieces are so special, because nature did not intend on perfection and consistency, every single piece from our collection is unique in its own special way. From the grooves in its texture to that slight change in hues, its details are subconsciously and intentionally different.

We believe that jewelry should be more than just beautiful; it should be a medium for self-expression and personal storytelling. Each piece we create is a wearable work of art, designed to reflect the individuality and spirit of its wearer. Our jewellery sets the tone for the environment that Yoreh portrays. That intentionality comes before anything else; it's that simple. When we break down our beliefs we are always left with the same ingredients; art and intent.

Words are simply not enough to portray what it is we do at Yoreh, even though we gave it our best effort, you simply have to experience it for yourself.
